Join us for our 2025 PWI Conference and celebrations.
The Permanent Way Institution of NSW (PWI) is thrilled to celebrate 51 years of service in 2025, and we invite you to be part of this milestone event at our Annual Convention.
The theme for our 2025 Convention is Rail Crossroads: The Freight v Passenger Debate. Newcastle is often seen as the gateway for the freight industry (coal and general freight), whilst also offering a successful blend of heavy and light rail passenger modes with the prospect of high speed rail as well. This unique crossroads of rail systems provides a fantastic backdrop to explore the freight vs passenger rail debate, allowing us to lean on the experience of this and the surrounding region to provide us with an insight into the success (and failure) of both rail sectors.
